Here is a recap of establishing our Town Hall, from start to finish:

MAY 2009:  Several meetings have been held and all of our visitors are impressed and have complimented on the new Town Hall.  Thanks to a job well done by Portside Builders and all of the subcontractors who worked on this project.  Also, thanks to Dale Carlson and his "crew" (horticulture class) for their hard work on the landscaping.  Many others have taken time to add some finishing touches, as well.  Our formal dedication will be held at our Sesquicentennial Celebration on Saturday, July 18th - 12 noon.  See you there!

APRIL 9, 2009:  We're here!   Yes, the moving crew completed most of the moving on Thursday, April 9th.  We had a quick grading of the parking lot on Tuesday (April 14th), a little dusting, arranging and we were reading for our Annual Meeting that evening.  Everyone was pleased with the results.  Special thanks to all who helped with the move:  Leo, Dan, Arlene, Linda, Paul, Chuck, John, Darrell von Berg, Jerri Girman, Mike Madden. Well done!

This is it!  Move day scheduled for Thursday, April 9th.  Our 2008 Annual Meeting will be held in our new Town Hall on Tuesday, April 14th, 2009 beginning at 7 p.m.  Mark your calendar now!

We have created a "Town Hall Rental Agreement" and it is available under "Forms & Permits."  We are still in the process of fine-tuning the guidelines for use.

The Town of Sevastopol in fall of 2007 purchased property just south of Sevastopol Schools in Institute, and adjoining our Town Park property.  The existing wooden structure was demolished and signage indicates "Future Home of Sevastopol Town Hall."

Building plans are close to final draft and the go-ahead was given at our 2008 Annual Meeting held on April 8th.

Additional information will be posted at we move forward in this exciting adventure!

Update:  September 16, 2008

At the recommendation of the Building & Property Committee, the Town Board at its regular monthly meeting on September 15th, awarded the Town Hall building project to Portside Builders.  We expect to break ground before the end of September!  The building plans are on display in the Town meeting room (behind Sevastopol Schools in Institute).  If you have any questions, feel free to call Supervisor Dan Woelfel or Supervisor Chuck Tice on this exciting venture---we will keep you posted as we move forward!

Update:  September 29, 2008

Official groundbreaking!  The Committee was joined by Portside reps and Town Board members to participate in the groundbreaking--did you see our picture in the Advocate recently?  So, the foundation was poured and walls are going up.  It is expected to be closed in by the time cold weather arrives so that interior work can continue.  Anticipated finish date:  April 1st, 2009---no fooling.

Update:  November 21, 2008

A lot has happened since mid-October!  Foundation and walls are poured, infloor heat is half done, interior walls are roughed out and the roof trusses are on.  As the temperatures get cooler and cooler, the carpenters can look forward to working inside.  Building Committee members and others have made trips to Portside to see samples on flooring, cabinets and other interior and exterior colors and other accourtrements.  Stay tuned.

Update:  February 1, 2009

Wow! The exterior is nearly complete, with siding to be finished shortly.  Inside, the carpet and tile is in, the cabinets and desks are installed with countertops, plumbers and electricians continue their work, the wainscoating and wall carpeting in the community room are nearly finished, and soon the accoustic ceiling tile will be finished, once all the wiring is done.  Move-in date is scheduled for Thursday, April 9th.  We do plan to hold our Annual Meeting there on Tuesday, April 14th, beginning at 7 pm.  Hope to see you there!

Update:  March 20, 2009

Everything is on schedule and looking great!  All painting done, flooring in, most of the light fixtures installed, bathrooms nearly complete, clerk's office looking spectacular and outside looking very attractive.  See you on the 14th for the Annual Meeting.
