SPECIAL MEETING OF BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Friday, October 24, 2008 – 3:00 p.m.
Meeting Room, Modular Building at Sevastopol Schools 
4550 STH 57, Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin

Call to Order/Establish Quorum:
Chairman Leo W. Zipperer called the meeting to order at 3:17 p.m. 
Present: Supervisors John Staveness, Chuck Tice, Dan Woelfel and Tom
Girman.  

Motion by Girman and seconded by Tice to reconsider the previous
action taken on October 20, 2008, regarding the Community Marketing
Agreement with the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center (SBVC).  Motion
carried, unanimously.

Reconsideration of the Motion on the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Bureau
Re-Allocation of Room Tax Collections.   Tice recapped the information
previously provided at the regular Board of Supervisors’ meeting on
Monday, October 20th.    Since our Town does not have its own tourism
entity, and if we do not designate those dollars delineated as the
“Community Marketing Fund,” those funds would revert back to the
general budget of the Door County Visitor Bureau (DCVB).   In light of
our close proximity to the City of Sturgeon Bay, it is likely that our
Town lodging providers, along with eating establishments, do benefit
from the City’s tourist overflow.  Tice presented a proposed “Town of
Sevastopol Three Year Community Marketing Agreement 2009-2011” for
consideration by the Board whereby the City would enter into an
agreement with the DCVB, a copy of which is attached and made a part
hereof.
	Following discussion, motion by Woelfel and seconded by Staveness to
enter into the proposed Community Marketing Agreement, with the
following revisions:  (1) the agreement shall be for the period
January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2011; (2) the Town Board of Sevastopol
or its designee shall be seated on the Board of Directors of the SBVC;
(3) dues for an individual Sevastopol business membership shall be
equal to those of Sturgeon Bay business members; (4) the following
events shall be promoted and advertised at no cost to the Town:
Sesquicentennial Celebration, Town Hall Open House, Century Bike
event, Thresheree, Turkey Trot and FFA Farm Breakfast.   Motion
carried, unanimously.

Motion by Staveness and seconded by Woelfel to adjourn at 3:55 p.m.
