SPECIAL MEETING – BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

Tuesday, November 10, 2016 – 6 p.m.

4528 Highway 57, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235

Call to Order:  Chairman Leo Zipperer called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Establish Quorum.  A quorum was established with the following Board members present:  Chairman Leo Zipperer, Supervisor Chuck Tice, Supervisor Tony Haen, Supervisor Dan Woelfel and Supervisor John Staveness.

Also present:  Clerk/Treasurer Amy Flok, Peter Devlin freelance reporter, Laddie Chapman Video Voice of Door County, Jim Lundstrom Peninsula Pulse, Andy Hartman/Acorn Tree Service, Nick Uecker/On Site Logging, and Linda Wait.

Review of Haberli Road Property Situation.  Tice gave an update on the project.  The DNR is now giving us 45 days to remove the woody vegetation from the property, update the signs, and fence the property in by December 10.  Tice received estimates from 2 companies to complete the removal of the woody vegetation.  One estimate came from Andy Hartman (Acorn Tree Service) for $9,925 and the other came from Nick Uecker (On Site Logging Company) for $8,000.  Lily Bay also cleaned up a building on the property for $750.  Tice stated that we could take the money out of the Capital Improvement Fund or borrow it from the designated funds and the pay it back in 2017.  A motion was made by Tice and second by Staveness to go forward with the project and award the bid to Uecker.  Motion carried unanimously.

Reserve liquor license.  Michael Brennenstuhl, CEO of Door Artisan Cheese Company, approached the Town of Sevastopol regarding purchasing the reserve alcohol license that we believe to have on record since 1973. We currently have 2 Class B licenses unused.  Tice is questioning why the property owner came to us with this request instead of the Town of Egg Harbor.  Haen stated that we have had this reserve license for 43 years, why not try to sell it?  Woelfel commented that we have 2 regular Class B liquor licenses unissued at the present time. Staveness states that the 42/57 corridor is growing and we might need that license in the future.  This item will be brought back for the November 28, 2016 regular board meeting.

Adjourn. Motion by Staveness and second by Tice to adjourn.  Motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 6:47 p.m.

Respectfully Submitted

Amy M. Flok, Clerk [draft 12/7/2016]
