MINUTES –ROAD INSPECTION & MEETING OF TOWN BOARD ___________________________________________________________________________________

Call to Order: Town Board Chairman Leo W. Zipperer called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.
Roll Call/Quorum: In addition to the Chairman, the following Board members were present and constitute a quorum: Supervisor Dan Woelfel, Supervisor Tony Haen, Supervisor John Staveness and Supervisor Chuck Tice. Also present: Clerk Linda Wait.
Pre-Tour Discussion. The biennial Wisconsin Local Roads (WISLR) pavement rating is due this fall and, while on tour, the current ratings will be reviewed for updates (scale of 1 to 10 for asphalt, 1 to 5 for unpaved). Other items identified for consideration are included on the attached memo as prepared by the Chairman. Board members and Clerk departed the town hall at 9:30 for road inspection, tour and break for lunch. Staveness departed from road tour at 12:45 p.m.
Items in Need of Attention. Board members returned to the town hall at 3:10 p.m. Areas of concern were as follows:
Road sections to be considered for reconstruction:
1) Old County OR – 0.75 mile from approx. 1500’ east of Apple westerly to Bluff Court
2) Forest Road – 0.33 mile, approx. 1320’ between Mathey and 42/57 in wetland/lowland
between blue signage
3) West Dunn – 0.6 mile from Cherry/HH west to Bay Shore Dr/B
4) Bechtel Road – 0.9 mile from WD north to STH 57
5) Whitefish Bay Road – 0.35 mile from Bluff Drive west to Harder Hill
Grade/gravel:
1) Ploor Road from Haberli to terminus
Bridge & culvert repair:
1) South Cave Point Drive at Whitefish Bay Creek - fill voids and replace stone
2) Open culvert at Jarman/Clark Lake intersection
Mowing: discussion on request for bids, Wait will prepare a sample ad.
Winter operations: Woelfel suggested that areas be identified early for salt/sand applications in an effort to avoid ice-over conditions, i.e., South Cave Point Drive.
Areas in need of brushing, pothole repair, straightening/replacement of street and regulatory signs were identified and will be addressed.
It was noted that several driveways have been installed without first obtaining permits and several landscaping projects conducted within the road r/o/w. Course of action to be determined.
The above matters will be considered by the Town Board at the next regular meeting scheduled for Monday, May 18, 2015.
Additional nuisance/unkempt areas were also identified and will be referred to the Property Management Committee.
