Our Town of Sevastopol will be celebrating its 150th Anniversary in 2009, having been established in 1858. A parade, games and other events are being planned for Saturday, July 18th, 2009. Watch this site for updates!
Our February 2008 newsletter included an informational article and survey on the Celebration. We would still welcome and appreciate your input--feel free to complete the survey. Here is a link to the survey in the event you have not yet completed and returned your comments:
June 2008 update: On Saturday, July 18th 2009, we will begin the Celebration with a morning parade in Institute, followed by an opening ceremony at our Town Park, and an afternoon of food (pig/corn roast/cook-out, desserts & ice cream), beverages, softball & baseball games, contests and games for kids & adults, music, commemorative items and more!
We are still looking for volunteers to assist with this event, so please call the Town office (746-1230) or email any of the Committee members listed below if you are interested in helping with our Town's celebration.
We would also appreciate your old photos and stories to be included in our History Book. The book will include articles on People, Places and Events. Does your business or family have some interesting heritage you would like to share? If so, please contact one of us and we will be glad to answer any questions you might have on submitting an article.
