The Town of Sevastopol celebrated its 150th anniversary on Saturday, July 18th, 2009. This Sesquicentennial event was a huge success, with so many of our friends and neighbors participating and volunteering---it could not have been accomplished without your help! Editions of our "Sevastopol Stories" are still available. Black & white copies are $10 and full color are $40. We also have a limited supply of mugs, decks of playing cards and t-shirts available---great Christmas gifts for the "Town of Sevastopol" enthusiast! Stop in at the Town Hall and take a look! Here's a recap of the event:

The party is over! It was a huge success. Although the weather was on the cool side, it turned out to be a beautiful day. Our turnout for the parade was enormous--over 70 entries by local residents and businesses. We also had the pleasure of 40 UW-Madison marching band members who were in the parade and also provided our "5th Quarter" entertainment prior to the official Town Hall dedication ceremony. Then, everyone headed over to the Town Park to enjoy the pork roast, beverages and other food and refreshments available. The kids had fun on the train, bouncer and playing games on the softball field. Harley the camel gave lots of kisses. The Cubs and Legion baseball games had their fans. Listeners enjoyed the music of the Newtonburg Brass Band in the early afternoon and the Leist Boys/Modern Day Drifter held the crowd until late in the day.
A sincere thank you to everyone who assisted, volunteered or participated in any way to provide a wonderful day in our community and celebrate our 150 years!
P.S. We sold out of our "Sevastopol Stories" but are taking orders for another printing. If you would like a copy ($10 for black & white or $40 for full color) call the Town office (746-1230) or send an email (office@townofsevastopol.com) to place an order.
