The Town of Sevastopol is located in central Door County, Wisconsin. The town hall is located at 4528 State Highway 57 (Institute), Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235. The City of Sturgeon Bay and Town of Sturgeon Bay are at ts southern boundary (County T) and the Towns of Jacksonport and Egg Harbor to the north (Town Line Road). Our eastern boundary is beautiful Lake Michigan and on the west the peaceful Bay of Green Bay. We have a mixture of family farm operations, rural residential, undeveloped natural areas, and State and County parks. Our nearly 50 square miles is home to approximately 2,680 year-around residents--plus a substantial number of seasonals, and more than 80 local business offerings.
Most of our food establishments, pubs, businesses and lodging providers are open year-around. You're invited to visit any time of year. If you become really passionate about Sevastopol, it is a great place to live and the Sevastopol School District is committed to high education standards, "Pioneering the Next Generation."
If you are wondering about the origin of "Sevastopol," it is the namesake of a feisty Southern Russian port on the Black Sea, originally "Sebastopol" which in 1855 withstood and was victorious in a tussle with the British and French. Through a slip of the pen, "v" was substituted for the "b."
At this site, you will find our Town Board and Committee members, "go to" information, agenda for Board and Committee meetings, approved minutes, budget info, facilities rental and other useful information. The website is updated regularly, as information and forms develop. You can also "click" through our random home page to see photos of the Town Hall, park and playground in Institute, scenes from our Sesquicentennial parade (July 2009) and other great scenes from our Town. Do you have a beautiful photo from Sevastopol? We could see about posting it to this site!
