January 2012 Happenings:

Visit the Town of Jacksonport on New Year's Day at noon for the annual Polar Bear Plunge.  Event takes place at Lakeside Park on Lake Michigan, just off Highway 57.  Support the Jacksonport Fire Department by attending the pancake breakfast at the fire station.....breakfast is served until noon.

After the plunge, head over to the Village of Egg Harbor for another annual tradition, the Egg Harbor New Year's Day parade at 1:00 p.m.

Sevastopol Historical Society will meet on Monday, January 9th, at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room at the town hall.

The Door County Tourism Zone Commission will meet at the town hall on Thursday, January 19th, at 9:00 .m.

The clerk will be away from the office on Thursday afternoon, January 19th, for election training at the Government Center in Sturgeon Bay.

Board of Supervisors will meet on Monday, January 16th, at 7:00 p.m. for the regular monthly meeting.

Enjoy an evening outdoors at the Whitefish Dune State Park "Candlelight Ski" on Saturday, January 28th.  In the even of no snow, there will be a walk.  Event is from 6 to 9 pm.

Door County Planning will sponsor another educational session on Tuesday, January 31st, at 5:30 p.m.  Topic will be zoning ordinance text and map amendments.
