Attention Artists & Would-Be Artists: On Thursday afternoon, November 18th, at the Sevastopol Town Hall in Institute, the Whitefish Bay Association members have coordinated with the Peninsula School of Art to sponsor a soup bowl making event. Everyone is invited; all you have to do is show up between 1 pm and 4 pm. All art materials will be provided for you to design your bowl. Two student classes from Sevastopol School will also be joining in the fun!
This is an opportunity to donate your artistic talents in a community-wide effort to raise funds for the Peninsula School of Art and Feed My People. The finished and glazed bowls will be sold at a February 5th2010 benefit (at the art school), where a buffet of soups and breads donated by local restaurants and bakeries will be available for a $15 donation per person (discounts for families). Other areas are sponsoring these events and PSA is hoping to have about 500 bowls created for the fundraiser. Remember, this benefit is about giving, so you might not be able to purchase the bowl you made as someone else may have already selected your piece of art!
The Sturgeon Bay Visitors Bureau annual "Christmas By the Bay Parade" will be held on Saturday, November 20th at 10:00 a.m. The Town will sponsor an entry! If you are interested in helping, please call the Town office or Chuck Tice at 743-4790.
All meetings are held at the Sevastopol Town Hall in Institute (4528 Hwy 57), unless otherwise stated.
