POLLING LOCATION & HOURS:  Town of Sevastopol residents vote at the town hall located at 4528 State Highway 57, Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin (next door to Sevastopol School in Institute).  Wisconsin municipalities have uniform polling hours beginning at 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

REGISTRATION UPDATE.  The State Elections Board/GAB is conducting a 4-year voter maintenance check.  If you have not voted in the past 4 years, you may receive a postcard from the GAB.  If you wish to continue as a registered voter in the Town of Sevastopol, simply sign and date the card, and place in the mail.

ELECTIONS FOR 2013

2013 SPRING ELECTION.  The Spring Eleciton was held on Tuesday, April 2nd 2013, with 862 voters casting ballots.  That is about 43% of our registered voters--excellent turnout for a spring election!

Outstanding Regular Absentee Ballots as of 8:00 pm 4/2/2013:

Wards 1, 3, 4, 5 - Six (6) outstanding ballots

Ward 2 - Two (2) outstanding ballots

Military Wards 1, 3, 4, 5 - One (1) outstanding ballot

The Board of Canvass for this election will convene on Friday, April 5th 2013, at 4:00 p.m. at the Sevastopol town hall, 4528 State Highway 57, Sturgeon Bay WI 54235.

Currently, there are no fall elections scheduled.

 

      ATTENTION:  NEW REGISTERS  Please contact the town clerk at 746-1230 to register.  If you are a U.S. citizen, over the age of 18 and have been a Town of Sevastopol resident for at least 28 days, you are eligible to register.  Although election day registration is an option, you will save time and avoid confusion by registering before the next election date.  Be sure to bring proof of residency when you register. 

 

ABSENTEE BALLOTS

If you need an absentee ballot, please contact the town clerk at 746-1230 or email to office@townofsevastopol.comSend your signed request to the Town of Sevastopol, 4528 State Highway 57, Sturgeon Bay WI 54235.  An original signature is required before your absentee ballot can be processed.   Application for Absentee ballot fillable.pdf  Only military and overseas voters are allowed to receive ballots by email or fax; all other absentee ballots will be mailed or voted in person at the clerk's office.  

Please take notice that oustanding absentee ballots and provisional ballots for all elections shall be posted to this website after the close of polls (8:00 p.m.) on election nights.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS

You must be a resident for at least 28 days prior to the election date (this is a change from the former 10-day requirement).  If you have not been a resident for 28 days, you will need to vote in person or by absentee at your previous registration location.  The deadline to register by mail is 20 days prior to an election date.  Thereafter, you must register in the municipal clerk's office.  Be sure to bring appropriate proof of residence.
