May 4, 2007 ROAD INSPECTION - 2007

TOWN OF SEVASTOPOL

"Road Inspection Tour - 2007"

Commencing at 8:30 a.m. in Town Meeting Room
4450 STH 57, Institute
 

Call to Order:
Chairman Leo W. Zipperer called the meeting to order at 8:40 a.m.  
Also in attendance were Supervisors Tom Girman, John Staveness, Chuck
Tice and Dan Woelfel.

Review of 2006 Projects:
The following paving projects were accomplished in 2006:
Haberli Road  (Brauer to Ploor) 1.0 miles wedge & pave-$50,854
Bay Shore Heights (Cty B to Harder Hill).4 miles wedge &
pave-$19,153
Mathey (County P to Whitefish Bay) 1.0 miles wedge & pave-$54,241
Mathey (57 to Forest) .5 miles wedge & pave-$27,482
Rudy (Cty T west to end) .3 miles wedge & sealcoat-$7,763
Todey (42 west to end) .5 miles wedge & sealcoat-$9,764
West Shore (WD to Townline) 1.09 miles sealcoat, culvert-$2,481
Mathew Drive (Martin to end) .26 miles wedge & sealcoat-$6,308
Cinnamon Court (Reynolds west to end) breaker/base-$12,657
Labor add-on from Door County Highways-$1,122
Total road construction costs:	$191,825

Additional work had been identified, but was put on hold due to cost.
  

Set Route for 2007 Inspection and Review:
We have budgeted $250,000 for road construction and $45,000 for road
maintenance for 2007.  As of January 1, 2007, there were 83.88
certified miles of Town roads.

The following roads were identified for review:
1.  Old Highway (Gordon to Egg Harbor) - shouldering & breakups

2.  Peterson (Gordon to City limits) - .28 miles, shared with City,
breaking up

3.  Reynolds (HH to Townline) - 1.5 miles

4.  Mathey (north of Moore/Gilbert Farms to T)

5.  West Whitefish Bay (Bluff to Harder Hill) - culvert problem

6.  Weber (Dunn to Ripp) - cracking

The following roads and areas were previously identified for
inspection:
1.  High Bluff Estate - homeowners plan to improve to Town road
standards

2.  Maple Heights Circle

3.  West Jorns - signage

4.  Town Line - water problem near Cajun Acres

5.  Ripp Road - water problem near Lutzen
 


These following areas and roads were also discussed and added for
inspection:
Whitefish Bay at Bechtel - culvert extension
West Town Line from 42 to Mathey
Forest from 42 to Mathey
Forest from Mathey to Country View
Moeller Road - shouldering or paving at Bark
Cave Point - potholes and visibility from Whitefish Bay north
Timber Ridge - culvert and shouldering
West Dunn at Cherry Hills - culvert repair/flange and sweeping
Old Highway - water at Tanck Plumbing
Jarman - culvert
Reynolds at Michelle
	
Recess for "Tour du Town":
At 9:35 a.m., the Board recessed for the review and inspection of
roads.  The meeting was then called back to order upon return at 2:37
p.m.

Recommendations for Town Board Meeting:
Recommendations for 2007 roadwork will be prepared and submitted on
May 21, 2007.  Thereafter, the work will be advertised for request for
proposal (RFP) or bid.

Other Revenue Sources:
There were no additional revenue sources identified from grants,
Local Road Improvement Project (LRIP) or Town Road Improvement Project
(TRIP). 

Adjourn:
Motion by Girman and seconded by Woelfel to adjourn.  Motion carried,
unanimously.  Adjourned at 2:45 p.m.
